this weeks Torah portion is named after Jethro…the priest of Midian…idol worshipper and Moses father in law. Jethro converted to Judaism after he saw all the miracles that G-D had performed for the Israelites in the desert. at the time of the giving of the Torah… G-D brought heaven down to earth for the righteous ones… according to their perception…and for the repentant… the world was being elevated to the divinity of heaven. both experiences are true…in our daily encounters with life’s challenges when we acknowledge that G-D is real… we hear him and it is as if we see him with our own eyes… igniting our souls to heights that defy human understanding!
